A company’s logo is one of the most important aspects of its marketing, recognition, and representation. Depending on how it looks, it can be a major driving factor to increase sales, subscriptions, and customer loyalty. In other words, your company’s logo is a huge part of your company’s skeleton. It should communicate a certain message to anyone who looks at it consistently. Most business experts advise coming up with a creative and unique logo that allows your company or business to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

All the same, it should effectively communicate a particular message to a particular audience. But is designing such a logo by yourself an easy task Most likely, not! Fortunately, here are 4 tips for creating a logo for your company.

  1. Come up with something that best represents your brand

One of the most important things to consider when creating your company logo is what your company stands for. In this case, you’ll want to consider what it does, the problems it solves, and the various ways it makes the lives of its potential or existing customers easier. Additionally, these have to be things that set you apart from the rest. in other words, your logo has to be ownable from the word go.

  1. Take advantage of shapes, color, and symmetry

Science has it, that visual signs, illustrations, and representations are better perceived by the human brain than other content such as audio and text. In other words, you’ll want to make the best use of color, images, shapes, and symmetry when creating your company logo. Something such as a black panda, a blue triangle, or a red circle could set you apart from all of your competition in the industry. You’ll want to come up with a shape, theme, and color scheme that best represents your brand, and that which your target audience can only associate with nothing other than your brand, products, or services.

  1. Pass a message across

Some may consider it a bit traditional, but Text is not going down anytime soon as far as marketing is concerned. This is because, since time immemorial, logos have the best effect in marketing when accompanied by compelling words or slogans. Even with the best company logo, you will want to use words to influence customers to take action while still passing a particular message across.

  1. Work with the experts

It goes without saying, that you may need to work with an experienced professional to create a company logo that will have all it takes to introduce the wow factor. The good thing is that there are many expert graphic design companies that you can approach to create a professional company logo for you.

In sum, your company logo speaks a lot about your reliability, services, and core values. And if it doesn’t, then it probably isn’t a good company logo. With the above few tips, creating one shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Ecommerce is dependent upon photography more than anything else in the world to sell products and services. People rarely buy things without getting to see them first. Most customers would prefer buying products that function similarly as advertised. They even visualize how to use the products in their homes.

Most customers are determined to find out if product companies care about their reputation enough to offer well maintained products in consistent style. Photographs must be of high quality and present additional features. Here are four ways packshot photography by Kalory can impact ecommerce:

Top 4 Benefits of Photography in Ecommerce

1. Makes it Easy to Remember a Brand/Product

Research shows that compelling content with images often gets more consumer views than those without images. Just as visual learners, we remember content better if accompanied with images.

A study was conducted and it involved respondents reading content without any images. Three days later, the study found that the respondents could remember only 10% of the information they read.

A similar study was conducted but this time with content containing pictures. It was found that more than 60% of the information read could be remembered up to three days later.

What you remember becomes more familiar, a key factor in enabling customers choose a product brand over another.

2. Builds Consumer Trust

Decisions related to purchase are often based on consumer trust. The fact that consumers are able to trust their friends opinions is reassuring. Research has shown that most consumers trust word-of-mouth more than media advertisements.

Most customers believe it is an indication of products being high quality. Fans take brand personality seriously, the same way you trust what your friends say instead of a salesman.

People like to see real people they know convincing them about products theyve interacted with and used. For instance, many people shop for clothes only after seeing real consumers wearing them.

3. Effectively Advertises Products

Product images mean a lot to your business. The trust between the consumer and the company grows and strengthens due to heightened perception of risk. Customers get to buy products only after seeing whats on offer, leading to increased sales.

4. Photographs Can be Easily Shared

With visual content in place, it can be easily shared across different social medias platforms such as Facebook and Instagram hence more consumer views. With photographic content, creation of a community online can make it easy to sell your products. Social networks and social advertising promote growth in consumer content trends.

Conclusion

Technological advancements have spurred the growth of ecommerce photography, making it easily accessible to business owners. Mobile technology has done a lot in changing the face of ecommerce; you can browse different products using your mobile devices.

Google has also enabled internet users to search for more relevant product contents in a faster way. In the digital world today, transparency and authenticity have become critical to running successful businesses. You dont just get your expectations met, but also enjoy exceptional experiences through online shopping.

A mysterious and classy way to add more sizzle to your text is to cloak engulf them in smoke. This effect can definitely add more thrill to your boring catalog print designs and flyers. Let’s begin.

STEP 1

Initially, you will want to set up your document of course. Use a very wide area dimension though to make sure the text and smoke effect will fit. Pay attention to the resolution as well. Printing this type of design means using a large resolution (300ppi) to make it look great in print.

STEP 2

With a new document open, first, paste in your smoke image. It is best to get a real smoke image to get the real authentic effect. Make sure though that you are using a high-resolution image as well. Do not worry about the color of your smoke image for now.

STEP 3

Now, first, we shall remove the color values for our smoke (since it is blue).  Just go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Black and White.  Use the default values, but change the Reds value to 150%.

STEP 4

Then go Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Invert…

STEP 5

This gives us white smoke and black background as our image. Take note that you now have two new adjustment layers on top of our main layer.

STEP 6

Next, select all of your layers, and then right-click on them. Select the option to create a SMART OBJECT, so that you can easily manipulate all three layers.

STEP 7

Now we add the title. Just use the Text tool to type in the title that you want. Use white color for your text for now. Also, make sure you choose your font style carefully so that it matches the smoke theme that you are trying to achieve. It would be good to use a blockier, thicker text usually so that people can see the full smoke effects in and around them.

STEP 8

Now, hold down the CTRL key and click on the image thumbnail of your text layer. This selects the area of the text of your layer. Then, click on our smart object smoke layer below. At the bottom of the Layers panel, click on the option “Add Layer mask”. You will see the smoke around the text disappear leaving only your text. Hide the text layer itself, and you will see that only a silhouette of the smoke in the shape of our original text has appeared.

STEP 9

Now duplicate our smart object with a layer mask. On the duplicate, select the layer mask thumbnail by clicking on it. Then Press CTRL+I to invert it. You will now see that the smoke layer reappears again.

STEP 10

Now, here comes a bit of a wordy part, but read carefully.  Create a layer by clicking on the folder icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. Drag your duplicated layer here.  Change the blend mode of that layer to SCREEN.

STEP 11

Then, select the layer group again and then click on the ADD LAYER MASK button at the bottom of the Layers panel again.

STEP 12

Then, click on the brush tool. Colour this black. Right-click on the canvass while using the brush and set its hardness to 100%. Once done, just use the brush to make your smoked text appear.

STEP 13

Of course, some parts of the characters will be missing. Just unhide your original text layer from the layer and then reduce its opacity to 10%. This should give your text subtle completeness even though the smoke effect is of course more emphasized.

STEP 14

Finally, go to Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Curves. Place this layer on the top of all layers and then apply the curve shape below.

FINAL IMAGE

Once done with the adjustments, you should now have a great looking text that is highlighted with smoke. Congratulations!

Welcome to this step by step tutorial in creating a knife vector icon in Adobe Illustrator. Whether you will be using this icon for web design, or even printed materials such as catalog prints, flyer printing, and posters, these vector graphics will always look crisp and sharp, simply because they are easily scalable. So just follow the steps below and even you as a beginner should easily discover how to create your own knife vector icon.

1. The first step to creating the knife is of course creating the basic knife shape. With a new document open, use the pen tool to draw your knife. Now, there are different types of knives, but for our purposes, we are going to use a classic kitchen knife shape. Create the shape by drawing three anchor points just like this shape.

2.With the basic shape ready, remove the black stroke, and add a light grey to grey gradient like so. Make sure that you adjust the angle of the gradient color so that the lighter side of the gradient is on the cutting side of the knife.

3. Now, duplicate the knife shape by pressing CTRL+C then pressing CTRL+Vwhile the knife shape is selected. Once duplicated, reposition it back over the original knife shape. Then use the Direct Selection tool(shortcut A) to extend the bottom-left anchor a little bit as you can see below.

4. Next, send this shape to the back by right-clicking on it and choosing the send to back option. Also change its gradient color to a grey and light grey gradient, coming from top to bottom. Just adjust the angle and color gradient as you can see below.

5.Next, draw two bent rectangles into the middle of your knife shape. Weare creating the shine of the knife here. Color them to shades of light grey (white slightly darker of course), and then add a gradient that goes left to right along the angle of their slope. Reduce their transparency to around 60% using the transparency panel.

6.Next, draw the part where the knife attaches to the handle. Again we are using the pen tool here. We used five anchor points here. Color it with a grey to dark grey color like so.

7.Next, you will want to draw the handle. This can be tricky with the pen tool, but you only need to use 5 anchor points as you see below. Make sure you add a black to dark grey color for this shape.

8. Using the ellipse tool, draw three small circles into the handle. Remember that you can hold down the SHIFT key as you drag the ellipse tool to make sure that the circles have constrained proportions creating a perfect circle. Color them a light grey and grey gradient. Make sure they do not have strokes, and they align perfectly across the handle.

9. Great! Now you have a nice kitchen knife icon to use for your various specialized designs.

10.To easily manipulate its orientation, group the whole thing together by right-clicking on the knife and selecting “Group” in the context menu.

11.Then, with the selection tool activated, hover your mouse near the selection box. When you see a curved arrow cursor, you can then rotate the knife at will to your desired angle.

12.You can then just easily put the knife into anything that it must cut, just like an orange. Here we have placed an ellipse circle shape, with orange gradient color. We just sent the orange circle to the front with the knife positioned at the back, extruding on top of the orange.

Great! Now you know how to create a nice Knife icon from scratch.
