Started in 1945 as a Ford division, Mercury also operated under Lincoln division as a Lincoln junior, and as a sovereign automotive headquarter also. 1960s was the era in which Mercury automotive gave its fullest to the automotive industry, by producing classic cars like; Park Lane, Marquis, Turnpike Cruiser and Cougar. Mercury also operated as a Ford�s competitor in the same era, by producing equivalent to Ford Galaxie 500/XL models. These competitive cars were S-55 and Marauder with the similar body design and functional efficiency. In 1970s, Mercury returned back to Ford.
